Licensed Professional Counselor

Pam McGhee Gibbs is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) with 15 years in the field. She earned a Masters in Community Counseling from Argosy University and holds a Masters of Business Administration from Clark Atlanta University. Her undergraduate work was completed at Purdue University.

 

Pam enjoys working with individuals who are struggling with life due to stress, grief, recovery from substance abuse and career transitions.  Pam also enjoys working with clients experiencing stress in relationships due to emotional abuse, betrayal, codependency and family of origin issues.  She has extensive experience providing psychotherapy for adults suffering from anxiety, depression, anger, interpersonal conflict and other challenging life stressors.

 

Pam is dedicated to helping clients reach their full potential both as individuals as well as members of an overall family system. Her work in providing clinical care  includes working as a Team Lead Therapist offering Intensive Family Intervention (IFI) services to families in crisis and as a Treatment Liaison for adult participants struggling with addictions and co-occurring disorders with the Forsyth County Drug Court Program.  Pam has extensive training and education hours in addiction treatment over several years. Pam also has training in Choice Based Anger Control which incorporates CBT and mindfulness concepts in helping individuals overcome challenges related to an inability to manage their anger. 

 

Pam uses a relational approach while incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, spirituality and other therapeutic techniques.  Pam utilizes clients’ strengths with a focus on empowering individuals to realize the greatest potential within themselves to overcome difficulty.
